LillyBean makes pastry chef-crafted baking mixes, frostings and seasonal baking kits that are top-9 allergen-free, vegan and gluten-free. LillyBean was founded in 2017 by pastry chef Jill Donaldson. Every product is made in a dedicated allergen-free, SQF-certified facility.

All LillyBean products are free from the top 9 allergens: milk, eggs, fish, crustacean shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soybeans and sesame. They are made in a dedicated allergen-free facility. A few of our preparation suggestions mention ingredients like nut butter or soy butter. If those don’t work for your household, swap in an alternative that does.

Every LillyBean mix is gluten-free and made in a dedicated allergen-free facility.

Yes. Every LillyBean mix is vegan. Each pouch includes both vegan and traditional preparation instructions, so you can bake with oil and non-dairy milk, or with butter, eggs and milk if you prefer.

Many do. Cornstarch appears in the baking powder in our mixes and in the powdered sugar in our frostings. If you avoid corn, check the ingredient list on each product page.

Our mixes are built on a gluten-free flour blend of rice, sorghum, potato and tapioca flours, with vegan cane sugar and real vanilla beans. Never artificial colors or dyes - our Red Velvet mix gets its color from beetroot. The full ingredient list for each mix is on its product page under “Ingredients” and printed on every pouch.

Those are real ground vanilla beans. We use the real thing, and you can see it.

It depends on the mix, and each product page lists it under “How To Make It.” For example, our cake and cupcake mixes need oil and milk of your choice, plus eggs for the traditional version. For the vegan version, you use oil and non-dairy milk. Our buttercream frosting mixes need butter (or vegetable shortening for vegan) and a few tablespoons of milk.

Each cake and cupcake mix makes 12 cupcakes, 36 mini cupcakes, or one 8" or 9" round cake. Each buttercream frosting mix frosts 12 cupcakes with some left over. Our Gooey Blondie Mix makes 16 blondies, and our sugar cookie and gingerbread cookie mixes each make about 24 cookies.

Our Gooey Blondie Mix is a sofi Award winner and one of our best sellers. Bake it as blondies in an 8x8 pan or as a skillet cookie.

No. Our mixes are shelf-stable and have an 18-month shelf life. Check the best-by date on the pouch.
